World Book Day

What is world book day all about?

World Book Day is a celebration! It's a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it's a celebration of reading. In fact, it's the biggest celebration of its kind. The point of world book day is to get people reading.

We celebrated by dressing up in our favourite characters from books. It was good to see all the great costumes…..even the teachers dressed up……Where’s Wally?

World book day was a great day because you got to dress up as one of your favourite characters. There were prizes for the best dressed (a Where’s Wally book) and the 500-word story.                                                                                                                                                                                               Dylan-4B

World Book day 2017

Today is World Book day! As always Hazelmere never lets us down. We started the day with judging 500 word stories. After this   we had a wonderful competition about who dressed the best as their favourite characters from books. The winner of the competition was one from each year group. The winner from year 3 was Stanley from 3D. From year four we had Fleur from 4RS. With year 5 it was Leo from 5C. And finally it was Taya from 6H. All these winners won a Where’s Wally book as this year the theme is 30 years of Where’s Wally. This is again one of the best World Book days Hazelmere has ever had!
